Accrington Stanley-Who Are they?
Rogues' Gallery| Family Tree

A popular beat combo who sprang to obscurity in Southampton in the late 1980's, ACCRINGTON STANLEY have earned and kept a peculiar corner in the hearts of the downtrodden masses for their pioneering songs, a poignant inability to be fashionable, and a shameless embrace of that rare musical quality frowned upon by the mainstream Music Industry, known as 'disorder'.

Formed by Dan O'Farrell and Richard Barrett in 1986 while still at school, ACCRINGTON STANLEY became a staple of the Southampton music scene. They then became the TippEx of the UK University Circuit. Further aspirations to office stationary status were realised in 1992 when the band toured Japan, playing the 650,000,000 capacity Yoyogi National Car Park.

" The world of ACCRINGTON STANLEY has always been one of chaotic highs and dizzying lows. In between, there is a place where this disorder makes sense; where great music still moves mountains; where the spirit of the live event prevails in a world of disappointment and mediocrity. For this they have been adored and reviled in equal measure. Sometimes by the same person at the same time. Sometimes by someone else. These two fans and many others have worshipped at the altar of ACCRINGTON STANLEY. You too will be changed."
-Sheldon Lazarus, Connex South East Gazette

The Current Line-Up

It is a known fact that if you replace a couple of planks of wood from a Greek warship, it remains, to all intents and purposes, a Greek warship.
Accrington Stanley has seen a fair few knotty planks in its time. Those currently keeping the water out can be seen on this page.
